I am currently renting a car from that company I booked through booking dot com and thought it is a serious car rental company. But by far it is not. It is away from all the other rental companies. And when I got there and wanted to rent my car all of the sudden I had to pay $1200 more for some insurance only they could provide me and taxes. I prepaid with booking and payed in full , my rate of $200. My cheap car rental went from 200$ to $1400 it is a total scam and rip off !!! BE AWARE

Absolute nightmare, still trying to get back our $1000 deposit after 4 MONTHS!! After reading all of the great reviews on here I decided to go with this company. I booked the car online for 12pm and it isn't until after you confirm that that they let you know you had from 12-12:59 to pick up the car or it would be cancelled no refund. I figured my flight could be late so I immediately edited the time to 1pm and they approved it. My flight lands and I call the company as there was no shuttle, she said my car was cancelled but after some back and forth they realized they approved my later time and sent someone 45 minutes later to pick me up. Just a heads up on top of the fee online there is a $13/day mandatory toll charge, understandable but brings up the cost significantly. The hours on our contract stated they open at 7am however the woman explained they have been opening at 9am but could have someone return us to the airport that morning if requested. We requested 7:30am return to the airport and stressed that it could not be late, she ensured us it would be on time and ready to go. We returned out car at 7:20am but nobody was there so we called the number, it sounded like they forgot about our time and sent someone 15 minutes late to our requested time. The woman started looking over the car and explaining there was "excessive" sand in the car (in a beach town) and we would be charged a cleaning fee. There was light sand from normal use and the company states they routinely sanitize and vacuum cars between customers. I took photos once we were dropped off at the airport, we were already late for our flight so I was not able to document extensively but you can see how little sand was in the car. Its been 27 days since we dropped off the car and we have not received any word of our $1000 deposit. I emailed the company about the matter and they were very dismissive stating the car needed to be vacuumed and we would be charged. Edit: this company added a $25 “administration fee” to the cleaning fee as well

UPDATE 11/15/22: Nico's has NEVER made things right. My insurance company continues to reach out for resolution. I made contact several times a week by phone FOR over a month. No one ever knew the policy number. I also got the "only Nico knows that... call him." I did. Guess what? ZERO response. Shady all over. I will HAPILY provide an update to this review if Nico or his staff provides acceptable resolution. -- Original Review -- Never do business with this company. Their client damaged my vehicle and he paid for the "insurance". No policy number has been provided to me and I am left to repair my car out of my own wallet. This is not OK. The team is dishonest and Nico has never returned ANY call. No response via email either. Nico's name is on MANY businesses in S. Florida. I can only speculate how honestly any of them are run. REPEAT: do NOT do business with Nicos Rent A Car under any circumstances. Read the negative reviews below and know what you are getting into. Attached is the damage their client did to THEIR car. We rented a car this month in Miami and the customer service was great. They were fast on picking up and great with dropping off with no problems getting to and from the airport. People that complain don’t do their homework. Always have a copy of your own insurance information with you .If you have the correct coverage there are no hidden fees and no problems
